A Jennings County man was flown to IU Health Methodist hospital Tuesday evening after the motorcycle he was riding was involved in a wreck with a minivan northwest of Seymour.

Bryon Dale Robinson Jr., 26, of Scipio sustained fractures to his right leg and ankle in the wreck, which also involved a 2005 Chrysler minivan driven by Stephanie Newcomb, 43, of Seymour, according to a report from Jackson County Sheriff’s Department Officer Rick Meyer.

Robinson was traveling north on County Road 1000E on a 2006 Harley-Davidson when Newcomb backed out of her driveway into the path of his motorcycle, police said.

Newcomb told police she didn’t see Robinson, and Robinson said he was unable to avoid Newcomb’s vehicle and hit the rear of it, police said. The impact threw him into a field.

Newcomb was not injured in the incident reported at about 6 p.m.

Robinson was treated by Jackson County Emergency Medical Services personnel and taken to Schneck Medical Center in Seymour before being flown to Indianapolis. His condition was not available Wednesday.

County Officer Mitch Ray assisted.
