Mary L. Freeman, 82, of Seymour passed away Friday, May 5, 2017, at Lutheran Community Home.

Born March 1, 1935, in Sparksville, she was the daughter of Maurice and Doris Thompson Brooks, both of whom preceded her in death. On April 17, 1954, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church at Medora, she married Willard Ray Freeman, who survives. The couple were married for 63 wonderful years.

She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Seymour and was retired after working for Dr. Lashorne, Dr. Downing and Dr. Frische as an optician for many years. She was wonderful housewife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed playing euchre, knitting and crocheting to relax.

Other survivors include her sons, Roland (Carol) Freeman and Randy (Lisa) Freeman; daughters, Tonja (David) Blish and Marlene (Don) Ruwe; nine grandchildren; and several great- and great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Redeemer Lutheran Church with the Rev. Andrew Currao and the Rev. Joseph Barlau officiating. Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Voss & Sons Funeral Service and from 10 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the church.
