Benale Ann Wehmiller, 83, of Crothersville passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at The Villages at Historic Silvercrest in New Albany.

Born May 22, 1933, in Crothersville, she was the daughter of Ben F. Rider and Goldie Mae Rider, both of whom preceded her in death.  On Oct. 2, 1948, she married Leon L. Wehmiller, who passed away July 6, 2008.

She was a 1951 Crothersville High School graduate, a former employee of the U.S. Shoe Factory for 20-plus years and owned and operated Benny’s Beauty Shop for more than 30 years. She faithfully served as the beautician for Kovener and Sons Funeral Home and Adams Funeral Home for many years. She was a member of Phi Beta Psi, a euchre club and the former Bethel Lutheran Church in Austin, where she displayed her talents as the church organist. Recently, she attended Grace Lutheran Church in New Albany. She enjoyed playing the organ, cards, watching basketball games and always looked forward to the BMW family reunion.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sandy (Darrell) Brumett of Morrow, Ohio; a son and daughter-in-law, Benjie (Jane) Wehmiller of New Albany; four grandchildren, Kyle (Steffanie) Brumett of Crawfordsville, Cole (Carrie) Brumett of Sellersburg, Jenise (Alex Edwards) Wehmiller of Louisville and Brett Wehmiller of Westfield; and five great-grandchildren, Max, Marcus, Monte, Roy and Lilly Brumett.

The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville, with the Rev. Bruce Kischnick and the Rev. Matthew Woods officiating. Burial will be at Crothersville Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 2 p.m. until time of service Saturday.

Memorials may be made to Crothersville Cemetery or Grace Lutheran Church.
