Charles Francis “Fritz” Roemmel, 89, of Ridgeway Avenue, Columbus, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at Silver Oaks Healthcare Facility.
Born June 9, 1927, in Seymour, he was the son of Frank Ambrose Roemmel and Bertha Opal Wayman Roemmel, both of whom preceded him in death. On June 21, 1953, he married Phyllis K. Morris, who survives.
He was a 1945 graduate of Shields High School in Seymour and was a member of Jackson Masonic Lodge 146 in Seymour. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was employed with Arvin Industries for 39 years before retiring.
Other survivors include a son, Steven (Kathy) Roemmel of Belleville, Illinois, and daughters, Sharon (Theresa Cornwell) Roemmel of Salem, Oregon, and Janet (Roy Adams) Roemmel of Reston, Virginia.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Fairlawn Presbyterian Church in Columbus with the Rev. Lee Dorsey officiating.
Friends may visit with the family immediately following the service.
Burial will be at a later date at Riverview Cemetery in Seymour.
