David Alfred Ashton, 79, of Butlerville, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at home.

Born July 1, 1937, in Anderson, he was the son of Leroy Sebastian and Louisa Annie Ayers Ashton, both of whom preceded him in death.

David worked and retired as a mechanic after serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Survivors include his daughter, Anna Louisa Ashton Kriete; sister, Elizabeth M. McCauley; grandchildren, Deanna Kriete, Dakota Skinner and Destiny Martinez; and still friend, Glenda Ruth, mother of their daughter.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Mason Ashton.

A memorial service with full military honors will be conducted at a later date at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison by Voss & Sons Funeral Service.
