LEXINGTON, Ala. — Authorities in an Alabama town near the Tennessee border say they are working to determine the cause of a camper trailer fire that killed one man.

Media outlets report the victim of the Sunday morning fire has been identified as 45-year-old William Jerel Thigpen.

Lexington Fire Chief Winston Glover says his department responded to a call reporting the fire shortly after 3 a.m. He says that by the time firefighters arrived, the trailer was “pretty much gone.”

Thigpen lived in the trailer and his body was found in what appeared to be the living room area.

The cause of the fire was not yet been determined however, authorities say there was a report of a loud explosion before the fire was reported.
