TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama coach Avery Johnson has hired Yasir Rosemond as an assistant.

Rosemond replaces former associate head coach Bob Simon on the staff after spending the past two seasons at Georgia. He has also coached at his alma mater Oregon, along with Samford and Seattle University during his 13-year career.

Rosemond worked at Oregon from 2005-10, rising from director of basketball operations to assistant coach. The Ducks made it to the Elite Eight in 2007.

He spent one season at Seattle before going to Samford from 2012-14.

Johnson says Rosemond, associate head coach John Pelphrey and Antoine Pettway give the Crimson Tide a “dynamic trio” in recruiting.
