BIDDEFORD, Maine — Police say a waiter at a Mexican restaurant has been arrested after serving underage women alcohol and sexually touching them.

According to a police statement, 38-year-old Fernando Soriano-Verdis has been charged with two misdemeanor counts of unlawful sexual contact and one assault count. It wasn’t immediately known if he had a lawyer, and there was no answer at a phone number for the restaurant.

The Portland Press Herald (http://bit.ly/2pSmkg6 ) reports a group of students was at Casa Fiesta in Biddeford for a birthday. Two women, ages 19 and 20, went to the bathroom, and police say Soriano-Verdis followed them. Police describe the alleged assault as “contact in the breast area.” The women weren’t hurt but were shaken up.

The restaurant faces nine summonses for alcohol violations.
