ATLANTA — The Atlanta Braves have placed third baseman Adonis Garcia on the 10-day disabled list with left Achilles tendinitis.

Jace Peterson is starting in Garcia’s place for Wednesday night’s game against Toronto. The Braves called up infielder Johan Camargo from Triple-A Gwinnett to fill the spot on the 25-man roster.

Peterson will be making his fourth start of the season at third base. He’s also played second base, shortstop and left field, serving a jack-of-all-trades role off the Atlanta bench.

The Braves aren’t sure how long Garcia will be out. He is hitting .237 with four homers and 16 RBIs in 34 games.
