Get ready for fun times

There will be something for everyone at Crothersville Parks Board’s May Funfest from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at Bard Street Park.

The Lunch Box will be there selling carnival foods. The Crothersville Police Department will be promoting bicycle safety. The Crothersville fishing team will have a “fish pond” for fishing.

Also, the parks board will provide a bounce house and a 21-foot inflatable slide for the kids. There will be face painting and carnival games, and various vendors will be set up demonstrating and selling their products.

Plus, for $1 a chance, you can take a turn at the dunking booth getting volunteers wet. Chief Brent Turner and Officer Christopher Cooper with the town’s police department, Reserve Officer Charlie Murphy with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, town Councilman Chad Wilson and town employee Nick Tatlock have stepped up to spend some time in the booth.
