Favorable weather conditions may allow the Indiana Department of Transportation to move up its schedule for fog sealing State Road 250 — from State Road 3 in Jennings County to east of Interstate 65 in Jackson County — to Thursday and Friday.

This would complete pavement preservation operations along the east-west highway’s 20 lane miles, according to a news release from INDOT. A chip seal surface treatment recently was applied as part of the project.

Fog seal/chip seal applications are cost-effective methods of sealing highways from moisture intrusion and ultraviolet ray degradation while reestablishing friction for safer driving.
