Letter: There’s a better way for health care

0

To the editor:

For weeks the impending change in the health care bill has troubled my mind. After hearing a practicing nurse on TV give some simple facts about health care, my mind is at peace.

When the interviewer asked if this or that were changed, could the health care be preserved, paid for, she replied, “no”, but health care costs can be met if the “for profit” is removed. To this she added, that is the way many other countries have provided health care for their citizens.

In fact, we could save money by encouraging early discovery or prevention of health problems.

Help the lame to walk, the blind to see. That still small voice inside says we can make this happen.

What we need is the nudge to step forward into a better way.
