CONCORD, N.H. — The parents of a 2-month-old boy who died last year in Concord, New Hampshire, have been arraigned on charges that they exposed him to methamphetamine.
Bail for 25-year-old Bradford Ross on Wednesday was set at $300,000 on charges of negligent homicide, manslaughter and prohibited conduct. Bail for 21-year-old Kayla Austin was set at $60,000.
Police responding to their home last August said the boy wasn’t breathing. At the time, police saw packages of meth, receipts and ledgers in a small trailer nearby. Ross and Austin were arrested on drug charges.
WMUR-TV reports in court Wednesday, Ross’ lawyer said Ross is trying to stay clean and read letters from treatment programs he’s been involved with.
The couple’s other child, a daughter, is in state care. Austin’s lawyer said she has complied with her bail conditions since August and has supervised visits.
