Police are looking for any tips that might help lead to the arrest of a white man who stole a recreational vehicle early Monday morning from a dealership on Seymour’s east side.

According to police reports and video from security cameras at Bob Poynter GM at 1220 E. Tipton St., the man drove around the lot in an orange-red car before getting out and testing several vehicles to see if they were locked.

The man eventually scaled a fence and climbed into a white Tradewinds RV before driving it through the gate. The impact damaged the RV, which is trimmed in gray and red, and destroyed the lock on the gate, Seymour police said.

Bob Poynter GM has asked people through Facebook for help and tips in this case, which remains under investigation.

Any tips or sightings of the RV may be left with the Seymour Police Department by calling 812-522-1234.

The incident was reported at 12:20 a.m. Monday.
