Interstate mowing work set to begin

Indiana Department of Transportation contracted crews began mowing operations Monday along Interstate 65 from Clark County to Johnson County.

Mowing began at the 16-mile marker at Memphis Road and is preceding northbound to the 90-mile marker at the Franklin exit.

Once the northbound median area and right of way beyond the outside shoulder have been cut, crews will begin working along the southbound lanes.

The current operation is the first of three mowing cycles planned for 2017 along the interstate within INDOT Southeast District boundaries. J&M Contracting of Shelbyville is the state’s contractor for this $185,000 mowing contract.
