The Columbus City Band will perform its annual patriotic concert at 2 p.m. June 25 at Heritage Park in Brownstown.

The concert, sponsored by the Brownstown Fund for the Arts, will be at the pavilion, and a new shade screen will be in place to protect concertgoers from the sun.

The band is led by Steve McGrew of Seymour and includes several other Jackson County musicians.

Later in July, the Brownstown Fund for the Arts plans to conduct the annual art camp.

The camp will be July 10, 11, 12 and 14 at Lutheran Central School. Students will rotate between three stations at the camp — music, ceramics and art. Teachers are all college qualified. Brownstown area students who have just completed their kindergarten year through the eighth grade may attend.

Grandchildren of Brownstown area residents also are eligible. Brownstown grandparents are encouraged to invite their grandchildren to spend the week in Brownstown and attend camp each morning.

The cost is $20, and applications can be found at bffta.org.
