The Seymour Middle School bowling team competed at the state competition Saturday at Championship Lanes in Anderson.

The Owls rolled 2,649 to place sixth in the state.

The prior weekend, in Noblesville, Seymour put on another strong showing.

In singles competition at the regional, Ragan Mathis finished in second place for the fifth-grade girls division.

Micah Maschino was third in the seventh-grade girls division, and Madelynn Burns placed third in the eighth-grade girls competition.

In the eighth-grade boys division, Trevor Lawson finished third.

Teams are formed by combining the top four series scores from each school.

Seymour continued its four-year streak by winning the regional team championship using the combined scores of Mathis, Lawson, Luke Lanam and J.C. Handloser.

This team of four was the one that competed at state.
