Earl E. Peacock, 73, of Nabb died Wednesday, May 24, 2017, in Scottsburg.

Born June 22, 1943, in Austin, he was the son of Maynard Peacock and Estella Derringer Peacock. On July 1, 1984, he married Barbara Bressler Montgomery Peacock, who survives.

He was retired from General Electric in Shelbyville and Cummins Engine Co. in Columbus and enjoyed fishing, doing things, traveling, working in his garden and selling his produce in Scottsburg. He loved his wife and children and enjoyed every Sunday evening gathered with brothers and sisters for a pitch-in supper.

Other survivors include his daughters, Kim Day, Kay Monroe and Renee Adams and those he raised as his own daughters, Carol Laman, Tammy Simpson and Vanessa Craig; sons, David Montgomery and Chris Montgomery; grandchildren, Tiffany Sayers, Brittany Poggel, Nate Montgomery, Katie Montgomery, Hannah Monroe, Skylar Monroe, Emily Adams, Ethan Adams, Garrett Day, Evan Day, Ashley Fish, Travis Simpson and Sarah Ponsler; great-grandchildren, Brayden Sayers, Jaxon Sayers, Eli Sayers, Broady Sayers and Madison Poggel; brothers, Ralph Peacock, Virgil Peacock and Chester Peacock; and sisters, Carol Pyatt, Janice Jones, Violet Gudgel and Rosie Ebbing.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Kathryn Corya and Evelyn Joan, and a brother, Richard Peacock.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Steward & Hoagland Funeral Home in Scottsburg, with Damon Marling and Doug Lee officiating. Burial will be at Lexington Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service.
