Louis E. Bobb, 75, of Seymour, passed away at St. Vincent Hospital Indianapolis on Wednesday, May 24, 2017.

He was born June 7, 1941, at the home on the Seymour farm where he still lived and worked at the time of his death. He was the son of Earl Harry and Hilda Siefker Bobb, both of whom preceded him in death. On July 23, 1961, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, he married Judy Judd, who survives.

He was a 1959 graduate of Shields High School and a 1963 graduate of Purdue University. He loved his family and his farm heritage and raising cattle there. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and a former member of the Jackson County Extension Service board, the board of Girls’ Inc. of Jackson County, the Seymour FFA advisory committee, chairman of the past drive committee of the former Jackson County United Fund, the Cattlemen’s Association and Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. He retired as an agriculture loan officer in 2003.

Other survivors include two children, Douglas Bobb and Julie Bobb (Patrick) Ballard; his grandson, Patrick DeBoor; a brother, Charles (Karen) Bobb; a sister, Elsie (David) Brooks; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Janet Bobb (Bill) Nolting.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Ralph Blomenberg and the Rev. Philip Bloch officiating. Burial will be at Chestnut Ridge Cemetery in Jackson County.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Voss & Sons Funeral Service and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church.
