Dr. Jason Woods, a podiatrist with Schneck Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, has been certified by the American Board of Wound Management as a wound specialist physician.

Certification in wound management is achieved only through a rigorous process by the board, according to a news release from Schneck Medical Center in Seymour. Those who become certified in wound management are among an elite group of health care professionals.

Woods received his medical degree from Rosalind Franklin University and the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine. He completed his residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

He joined the medical staff of Schneck Medical Center in 2012 and became board certified in foot surgery and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery in 2015.

Woods works closely with Schneck Rehabilitation’s Wound Care Program, which offers a comprehensive approach to the care of all types of wounds and burns. In addition to Woods, Schneck’s team of wound care specialists includes nurses specially trained and certified in treating chronic wounds.
