The seventh annual Ride to Remember, honoring 16 fallen heroes and their families who gave the ultimate sacrifice during the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts, will be June 10 and 11.

The ride includes a stop at 2:45 p.m. June 11 at the Jackson County Courthouse, 111 S. Main St., Brownstown, to remember Marine Lance Cpl. Hunter “H.D.” Hogan of Norman for his sacrifice.

Hogan was killed in action June 23, 2012, while serving in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.

A new stop was added this year in Vernon to remember Marine Lance Cpl. Jacky Koenig Jr. of North Vernon, who died April 7 of this year. The 20-year-old, who is buried in Vernon Cemetery at 315 S. Pike St., will be remembered at 4 p.m. June 11.
