Robert E. Stout, 59, of Freetown, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born July 29, 1957, he was the son of Morris Stout, who preceded him in death, and Patricia Soladine Stout, who survives in Freetown. On Sept. 1, 1996, at Ratcliff Grove Christian Church, he married Shiela Jones Joseph, who survives in Freetown.
He was a member of Seymour Harvest Church and an engineer at Valeo Sylvania for 29 years. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed storytelling and making people laugh.
Other survivors include a daughter, Aimee (Phillip) Rigsby of Seymour; five brothers, James (Patricia) Stout of Freetown, Brian (Kristy) Stout and Otis (Rotha) Stout, all of Seymour, Todd (Michelle) Stout of Medora and Jeremy (Charity) Stout of Brownstown; a sister, Joyce (John) Vogel of Seymour; and two grandchildren, Josiah Rigsby and Treyton Rigsby.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Spurgeon Funeral Home in Brownstown with Larry Robbins and Gary Dyer officiating. Interment will be at Smallwood Cemetery, Brownstown.
Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday.
