The Jackson County Purdue Club is having a pizza party for all current and incoming students from Jackson County attending Purdue University.

The event will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Aisin World Headquarters, 1665 E. Fourth St., Seymour.

Parents also may attend the party. There will be information about Purdue provided. Students can get questions answered and meet others who will be attending Purdue in the fall.

Prizes and two $250 scholarships will be awarded. One scholarship is for a current Purdue student, and the other is for an incoming student. In order to receive the scholarship, students must attend the pizza party.

Purdue is expecting the incoming class of freshmen to be the biggest in recent years and include the most Indiana residents since 2008. Around 100 students from Jackson County are currently attending Purdue, and more than 40 are planning to attend this fall.

RSVP to the pizza party by emailing Chuck Gordon at [email protected].
