NAMPA, Idaho — The developer who purchased the old Nampa Library has plans to turn it into a multi-use building that could be ready for residents as soon as December.

The Idaho Press-Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/2r6EzUi ) Mike Mussell estimated the most expensive improvements will cost more than $1 million. Those renovations included replacing the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system, updating plumbing, rough carpentry and new wall and ceiling materials.

Mike Mussell bought the old library from the Nampa Development Corporation for $1 because the projected development costs outweighed the estimated price of the building — giving it a negative value.

Mussell plans to have a historical display area that features several old-school exhibits and relics, including the train depot and the Dewey Palace Hotel. The building will then branch off into other businesses.
