NORTH VERNON

James “Jim” Sutherland, 89, of North Vernon died Monday, June 5, 2017, at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Sutherland; daughters, Brenda Lockwood, Linda Banister, Mary (Jay) Elliott and Lisa Trent, all of North Vernon; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at noon today at Commiskey Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Begley officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service.

Memorials may be made to the church or Mercy Rescue and Adoption, North Vernon.
