NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. — A man has died in a fire at a home in eastern South Carolina.

The North Charleston Fire Department told local media outlets the fire was reported shortly before 5 a.m. Thursday.

Smoke and flames were visible when firefighters arrived. It took about 10 minutes to control the fire.

The man’s name has not been released.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
