MIAMI — Skies have cleared, but a large outlet mall that is a popular tourist attraction in Florida will remain closed for the third consecutive day because of a severely flooded parking lot.

Police in Sunrise, where Sawgrass Mills mall is located, said on Twitter Friday morning that the mall remains closed.

A message on the mall’s website says it plans to reopen at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Local news outlets say up to 15 inches of rain was recorded at Sawgrass Mills, which is north of Miami, over a three-day period. Parking lots and roads around the massive outlet mall flooded. Pumping operations are continuing.

Meantime, the forecast calls for rain on Friday afternoon and through the weekend across South Florida.
