Hanover scholarship in memory of Kovener

Cassandra Lockridge of Nashville, Tennessee, was named the 20th recipient of the Dennis K. Kovener Memorial Award during Hanover College’s 80th honors day convocation April 13 in the Lynn Center for Fine Arts.

The award, established by the college in honor of Kovener, is given each year to an outstanding student who exemplifies loyalty to Hanover and determination to succeed, according to a news release.

Kovener was a member of the faculty, serving as archivist and reference librarian in the Duggan Library, until his death. Kovener’s parents are Jesse and Elsie Kovener of Seymour.

Lockridge is a graduating senior majoring in political science.
