BOSTON — Boston police are investigating a video allegedly involving a police officer that may have racial overtones.

The Boston Herald reports ( ) Saturday that the video, in the style of a movie trailer, describes an officer and a “dog with a limp” as partners “in the fight against good and evil.” The video names the officer and includes photos and video clips, including one of him in uniform.

The video concludes with words saying this summer “black people have met their match.”

Boston Police Department spokesman Lt. Detective Michael McCarthy says police saw the video Thursday and turned it over to internal affairs. He says the video’s content is “upsetting” and that police are investigating where it came from and who’s depicted in it.

The Herald did not identify the race of the person in the video.
