The railroad crossing at St. Louis Avenue in downtown Seymour will be closed permanently Monday.

James Connolly, road master of Louisville & Indiana Railroad Co., announced the closing Thursday. Guardrails will be installed to prevent traffic from crossing over the tracks to Indianapolis Avenue.

Traffic will have to turn west onto St. Louis Avenue.

Connolly also announced the crossing on Second Street at Indianapolis Avenue will be closed for repairs Monday and Tuesday — weather permitting.
