NEW ORLEANS — Police say man accused in the stabbing death in New Orleans of a homeless woman has been arrested.

The Times-Picayune (http://bit.ly/2rf7bea ) reports New Orleans Police say 49-year-old Jules Williams was arrested Saturday hours after the woman was found near her tent beneath the Pontchartrain Expressway. The victim in the stabbing death has not been identified.

Police say the victim was found with multiple stabs wounds in an area that frequents homeless people.

Williams is charged with second-degree murder.

Records show Williams was sentenced to five years in prison in 2012 for attempted distribution of cocaine.
