BERLIN — Borussia Dortmund will begin its German Cup defense at sixth-tier side FC Rielasingen-Arlen, while Bayern Munich starts at third-division Chemnitzer FC.
Bundesliga runner-up Leipzig was drawn in the first round Sunday against seventh-tier side Sportfreunde Dorfmerkingen from Baden-Wuerttemberg, in the southwest of the country, while Hertha Berlin faces third-division Hansa Rostock.
Beaten finalist Eintracht Frankfurt plays against fifth-tier champion Erndtebrueck, Borussia Moenchengladbach is at Rot Weiss Essen, Hamburger SV at Osnabrueck, Schalke at Dynamo Berlin, Bayer Leverkusen at Karlsruher SC, Stuttgart at Energie Cottbus, Hannover at Bonn, and Werder Bremen at the Wuerzburger Kickers.
Freiburg striker Nils Petersen will face a team led by his father Andreas Petersen, the coach of fourth-tier Germania Halberstadt.
The games take place Aug. 11-14.
