A pedestrian died in a single-vehicle wreck at 2:41 p.m. Friday in the 3000 block of North State Road 7 in Jennings County.

Ronald W. Dailey, 69, of North Vernon was driving south on State Road 7 in a 1998 silver Honda Accord when his vehicle partly left the west side of the road and struck Seve R. Reynolds, 28, of North Vernon, according to a news release from Lt. Mike Mowery, spokesman for the Jennings County Sheriff’s Department.

Witnesses told officers Reynolds was walking south toward North Vernon on the west side of State Road 7 when the accident happened, Mowery said.

Reynolds was pronounced dead at the scene by the Jennings County Coroner’s Office. The coroner’s office has determined Reynolds recently moved to North Vernon from Minnesota.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing, Mowery said. Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be a factor at this time, he said.
