CHESNEE, S.C. — A woman has died from injuries suffered in a mobile home fire near the South Carolina-North Carolina state line.

The fire was reported around 9:30 a.m. Saturday at a home just off state Highway 11 west of Chesnee in Spartanburg County.

The coroner’s office said 57-year-old Cheryl Henderson of Chesnee died at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center around 10:30 a.m.

She and a man were in the home when the fire started. The man was taken to the hospital. There was no immediate word on his condition.

Investigators said the fire started in a bedroom of the home and appears to have been an accident. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Four fire departments were called to fight the flames.
