MARYSVILLE, Wash. — A shooting outside a Marysville, Washington apartment complex left a 59-year-old man dead.

The Everett Herald reports (http://bit.ly/2rSLgIF ) the shooting occurred Sunday afternoon after the victim told the man to leave his neighborhood.

Police say the victim died at the scene from gunshot wounds to the neck, head and torso.

Police say 59-year-old Wayne Alpert was arrested nearby.

Thomas says police believe Alpert was also involved in an unrelated assault earlier in the day involving a bus passenger.

Police had responded to a confrontation between two passengers leaving a Community Transit bus and the suspect brandished a firearm, but no shots were fired.

Soon after, police say the same suspect fatally shot the man at the apartment.

Alpert was booked into jail on murder and assault charges. Bail was set at $1 million.
