NARRAGANSETT, R.I. — Two women have been rescued after being swept out by the current in a Rhode Island river.
WLNE-TV reports (http://bit.ly/2shwvPU ) the unidentified women were swept out in Narragansett’s Narrow River around 3:30 p.m. Monday.
A private vessel helped one woman out of the water before the police and fire department arrived.
A kayaker had tried to help the other woman, who was clinging to a rock, but they capsized.
The Narragansett Fire Department was able to rescue the kayaker and the other woman.
One of the two women suffered minor injuries.
