SALT LAKE CITY — The top federal prosecutor in Utah is among the first wave of U.S. attorney candidates being nominated to positions by President Donald Trump.

John Huber submitted his resignation in March after the Trump administration abruptly called on the top federal prosecutors in 46 jurisdictions to step down.

Huber returned to the post on a temporary basis after Attorney General Jeff Sessions named him as interim U.S. attorney under the Federal Vacancies Reform Act.

Huber’s nomination now goes to the Senate for confirmation.
