OPELIKA, Ala. — A man has been charged with murder in the shooting death a woman police believe was his girlfriend.

The Opelika-Auburn News reports (http://bit.ly/2ssw4DB ) that 35-year-old Darlene Little was pronounced dead at the scene Saturday after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds. Opelika Police Department Capt. Bobby Kilgore says the department’s Investigative Services Division determined that Little’s death was a murder. Police arrested 34-year-old Timothy O’Neal James of LaFayette on Monday morning.

It’s unclear if James has a lawyer.
