NEW ORLEANS — New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu is preparing to give his final “State of the City” speech.

The term-limited mayor has outlined plans and accomplishments each year after being elected in 2010. Wednesday morning’s speech follows the tumult over the removal of four Confederate-related monuments.

It also comes as the city is experiencing a surge in violent crimes, with Landrieu under heavy criticism from the District Attorney, among others.
