KENOSHA, Wis. — Kenosha police have identified an officer who shot and wounded a suspect he was chasing on foot.

Police say Officer Alex Wicketts is a six-year veteran of the department. He was responding to a weapons complaint Sunday evening when he encountered the armed suspect, a 19-year-old man.

The suspect was taken to a hospital for treatment. Wicketts was not injured.

Police are recommending charges of obstructing, bail jumping and endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon.
