ASHLAND, Ore. — A Nevada man accused of stabbing a man and a woman multiple times in an Oregon park has been found guilty of felony assault.

The Mail Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/2taQ2zI ) Robert Obyrne Quinn, of Reno, was convicted Thursday of the crime that occurred last September at Lithia Park in Ashland.

According to the Jackson County District Court, Quinn failed to appear for the verdict but was arrested and is in jail awaiting sentencing.

Police say the stabbing victims were walking when they got into an altercation with Quinn that turned violent.

Authorities say Quinn pulled out a knife and stabbed the man 12 times and the woman four times when she tried to intervene.

Authorities say both victims have recovered from their injuries.
