WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — Three men have been hospitalized after being stabbed during a large fight at a Utah city’s celebration.

One man stabbed in the chest was in critical condition and required surgery, the other two suffered less serious injuries.

Officers say between 30 and 50 people were involved in the fight at WestFest in West Valley City.

Updated conditions of the men as well as their ages were not available Saturday, but West Valley police spokeswoman Roxeanne Vainuku said all three victims are in their late teens to early 20s.

Police arrested two people on suspicion of assault, but those people are not considered to have been involved in the stabbing, Vainuku said. Police believe one of the victims might have ties to the stabbing suspect or suspects.
