Helen Aurene Snyder, 93, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2017, at Lutheran Community Home.

She was the daughter of George and Hilda Frey Thomas. On April 23, 1944, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sauers, she married Paul H. Snyder, who preceded her in death in 2007.

She graduated from Brownstown High School in 1942. She worked at G.C. Murphy’s in Seymour, belonged to Sauers Extension Homemakers Club and was a charter member of Ladies Aid 4 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. She and Paul liked to travel and made it to all 50 states.

Survivors include her three children, Thomas (Marcia) Snyder, Nancy (Keith) Graser and Judy (Jay) Field; three grandchildren, Jenny Snyder, Aaron (Hilary) Whaley and Chris (Jennifer) Snyder; four great-grandchildren, Abby and Lila Whaley and Owen and Paul Snyder; and brothers, Donald (Mary) Thomas and Lowell (Ruth) Thomas.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Clifford and Hugo Thomas; and her sister, Mabel VonDielingen Goecker.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour with the Rev. Ralph Blomenberg, the Rev. Philip Bloch, the Rev. Jimmy Rodriguez and Vicar Joel Newton officiating. Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the church.
