Virginia E. Hubbard, 94, of Seymour passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at Lutheran Community Home.

Born April 30, 1923, in Jonesville, she was the daughter of Carl D. and Idella M. Rittman Schlehuser, both of whom preceded her in death. She graduated from Shields High School in 1941 and married Oren O. Hubbard July 6, 1941, in Jonesville. He preceded her in death March 11, 2009.

Her career began at Arvin Industries, where she worked for 10 years. She then retired from the Bartholomew County Auditor’s Office in 1980. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour, Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and Ladies Guild.

Survivors include her two sons, the Rev. Dr. Lynn D. (Deborah) Hubbard and the Rev. Roger R. Hubbard; niece, Nancy (Ed) Trowbridge; two grandsons, Bradley (Lisa) Hubbard and Eric (Melinda) Hubbard; a stepgranddaughter, Sharel Highland; and seven great-grandchildren and nieces.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Voss Fleetwood, and daughter-in-law, Sharon Hubbard.

A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Visitation will be from noon until time of service Friday.
