James T. Bowman, 75, of Elizabethtown, died June 19, 2017, at Columbus Regional Health.

Born Nov. 3, 1941, in Nashville, he was the son of Earl and Fairney Stogdill Bowman, both of whom preceded him in death.

He served in the U.S. Army after graduating from Nashville High School in 1959. He was honorably discharged with the rank of sergeant, and he proudly served his country. He was employed by Cummins Engine Co. in Columbus for 26 years and at Seymour High School for 16 years.

He was a longstanding member of Calvary Baptist Church in Seymour. He loved the Lord and served him faithfully. He is now at peace in the arms of his Lord and savior.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Danna Glaze Bowman; daughter, Marilyn Bowman; three brothers, Ronald (Janet) Bowman, Darrel (Bert) Bowman and Winford (Carolyn) Bowman; a sister, Judy (Ed) Phegley; and nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and many friends.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Dan Defriece officiating. Burial will be at 2:15 p.m. at Valhalla Memorial Gardens in Bloomington with full military graveside rites.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Voss & Sons Funeral Service in Seymour and from 10 a.m. until time of service Friday at the church.
