Crothersville man seriously injured in one-vehicle wreck

A 67-year-old Crothersville man injured in a single-vehicle wreck Tuesday near Uniontown was listed in fair condition a day later at a Louisville hospital.

Tommy Keith was hurt when the 1996 Toyota truck he was driving north on County Road 1300E left the east side of the road and struck a utility pole before overturning, according to a report from Indiana State Trooper Seth Davidson.

As a result of the crashm which occurred about 2:15 p.m. just south of State Road 250, Keith was trapped in his vehicle and had to be freed by Seymour Fire Department personnel, Davidson said.

He was treated at the scene by Jackson County Emergency Medical Services personnel before being flown by StatFlight helicopter to University of Louisville Hospital for treatment of injuries, police said. According to a hospital spokeswoman, Keith was in fair condition Wednesday afternoon.

Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors in the crash, police said. The investigation is ongoing.

Indiana Conservation Officer Blake Everhart and Jackson County Sheriff’s Department Officer Jesse Hutchinson also assisted at the scene.
