The Jackson County Public Library board of trustees received a report from information services assistant Janet Hensen during a meeting Monday at the library, 303 W. Second St., Seymour.

Hensen discussed her work in the information services department, which includes social media, local history, technology assistance and teaching the public how to operate online databases.

Public databases that were renewed in June include Pronunciator (foreign language learning), World Book Online (encyclopedia), newspapers.com and Newspaper Archives. Access to the last two databases is at the Seymour, Crothersville and Medora libraries only.

The board approved changes to the personnel, information services and interlibrary loan policies.

The board also received a report from the personnel committee and approved personnel changes and after-hours Seymour Library parking lot use Aug. 25 by the Fraternal Order of Police and Seymour Area Cruisers during their Pre-Scoop Cruise-In & Car Show.

The board’s next meeting is at 5 p.m. July 17 at the Seymour Library.
