SCIPIO

John D. Weber, 79, of Scipio, passed away June 28 in Indianapolis.

Born Oct. 9, 1937, he was the son of William John Weber and Freda Anna Henrietta Zumhingst Weber, both of whom preceded him in death.

He was retired from Reliance Electric Co., where he was a mechanical engineer, and he also served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a dedicated member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour.

Survivors include his wife, Shelby J. (Tomlinson) Weber; his daughter, Jennifer (Michael) Hale; a stepson, James (Suzy) Tomlinson; a sister, Mary Ann McDonald; and six grandchildren, James Tomlinson, Devin Tomlinson, Lucas Hale, Jessica Hale, Derek Hale and Calista Hale.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Weber, and three sisters, Carol Shrader, Jewell Ziegler and Janet Martin.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Philip Bloch officiating.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service.
