PALESTINE, Texas — Police say an East Texas man has been arrested in the fatal shooting of his ex-wife a week after her body was found near a rural road.

Palestine (PAL’-uhs-teen) police say 50-year-old Andrew Glenn Taylor was being held Saturday in the Anderson County jail on a murder charge. Lt. Gabriel Green says Taylor was arrested Friday night at home in Palestine, with bond set at $1 million.

Green says cellphone coordinates were used in the investigation of the disappearance of 46-year-old Ricki Deann Taylor of Palestine. She was reported missing June 22.

Detectives located her body June 23 in neighboring Houston County. Police believe Ricki Taylor was killed on June 21. No possible motive was released.

Officials didn’t immediately provide information on an attorney to speak for Andrew Taylor.
