ELBERTA, Ala. — An Alabama man has been charged with murder after authorities say he shot his roommate during a drunken argument.

Media outlets report that according to a statement from the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, 57-year-old Gregory David Buck was arrested Friday for shooting 43-year-old Jacob Scott O’Bryan.

Elberta police responded to a call about a shooting at about 11:30 p.m. Friday at a home. Officers encountered Buck outside the house, who allegedly told police he had shot his roommate.

Inside the house officers found O’Bryan’s body.

BCSO investigators say Buck and O’Bryan had been drinking alcohol and then began arguing. Ultimately, they say, Buck shot O’Bryan in the chest with a shotgun.

Buck has been charged with murder. It’s unclear if Buck has a lawyer.
